Featured Destination: Bahamas
|
Some years ago, Holland America went looking for an island in the Caribbean for the exclusive pleasure of its guests. In the middle of the Bahamas, 17 miles from the nearest neighbors, Holland America found it: uninhabited, idyllic, the choicest island in the archipelago -- Half Moon Cay. The line kept it largely untouched, so all its guests could discover an island of their own. Nine miles of beach stretch out in a great, smooth crescent, rimmed in blue. You can walk the whole distance and still only cover a portion of this unspoiled, private island. Half Moon Cay is an island destination featuring a comprehensive high-quality development that offers more facilities, services and activities than any other cruise line's private island. Half Moon Cay became operational in January, 1997. The island is shared with Holland America's sister company, Carnival Cruise Lines, for a select number of Carnival Caribbean sailings. Half Moon Cay is located on 2,400-acre Little San Salvador Island, Bahamas. more
